Puffed Wheat Smoothie

Last weekend we made our own soy milk and used some of it for this great smoothie, which is easy to make and very healthy.

Puffed Wheat Smoothy

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup vanilla soy milk
  • 1 cup puffed wheat cereal (without honey)
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • capful vanilla extract if not using vanilla soy milk
  • pinch of salt
  • few ice cubes

Puffed Wheat Smoothy

Directions:

  1. Place all ingredients in a blender and whiz.
  2. Depending on thickness you may want to add a few more ice cubes or water.

Notes:

In Spanish known as Batido de Trigo.

  1. I tried this smoothie over Christmas, with a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg for an egg nog kind of feel, and it was fantastic! Thanks again for the idea Chris!
