Canine carrot cookies

In celebration of World Animal Day, we made some healthy dog cookies for Jill. In case you missed doing something special today, International Animal Rights Day (IARD) will take place on 10th December 2007.

Ingredients:
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup gram flour
- (null) handful flax seeds
- 1/2 packet dry yeast
- 1/2 cup gomasio
- 1 egg replacement
- 3 Tbs. oil (I used grape seed oil)
- 1 tsp. molasses
- 1/2 cup mashed cooked carrots
- 1 carrot, grated

Directions:
- Combine the flours, yeast and gomasio.
- In another bowl mix the egg replacer, oil molasses ad mashed carrots.
- Add the grated carrot to the liquid mixture.
- Add the wet to the dry and mix well.
- Kneed a bit until it has an elastic quality.
- Roll out on a floured surface and cut out whichever forms you think your dog would like.
- I didn’t have any bone forms… but had both dog and cat forms.
- Bake in a preheated oven 325 (F) for 15-20 minutes or until dry and golden.
- Remove from the tray and allow to cool.
- Store in a dry place such as a cookie tin.
Notes:
Inspired by Yummy for dogs.org which has other nice things like Zainy Grany Biscuits and Pizzas for the Pupperonis.

you are the best! I’ve been looking for a dog treat recipe to make for the neighbors [well, for their dog!] and hadn’t found something that didn’t have ingredients I couldn’t find! *worships*
These made me wish I had a dog to feed these too! Maybe I’ll make them anyways and just walk up and down our street and feed them to random neighborhood dogs! I love your photo animation too!
Hi there,
I read the ingredients of your dog biscuits and noticed it included yeast and grape seed oil. I’m not sure if you know, but grapes are extremely dangerous for all dogs and yeast isn’t good either.
Please keep this in mind.
